Play therapy provides children with a non-verbal and universal means of expression that allows them to bridge the gap between concrete and abstract thought.
- Garry Landreth
From an early age, play is the natural way children communicate. They learn much about the world around them, and in return learn their place in that same world.
Utilising the power of play, children are the leaders in their therapy journey, using creative ways to problem-solve, enhance emotional and psychological development, build self-esteem and resiliency while learning self-regulation. Through the development of a strong therapeutic relationship, the child builds skills like empathy, social competence, and stress management.
When a child is empowered, validated, and trusted to be a part of their own therapeutic journey, a rich and deeply insightful world opens before them.
Guided by one of our trained Play Therapists, the child is bolstered by a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental environment, where they are allowed the freedom to feel, play, and express themselves in almost anyway they wish.
Through this process, children play in ways that help them overcome fears, break down barriers and grow self-confidence to continue their healing journey outside the play room.
Why Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a powerful, developmentally appropriate, and evidenced based counselling method for children.
✨We trust the child to lead us to where they need to be.
📣Toys are children’s words in the playroom.
🔎Children bring things to the playroom that they do not understand.
💡Play bridges the gap: what they don’t understand in their world, they come to understand in their play. What they cannot control in their reality, they can control in their play.
